lactation biscuit

Ingredients used in our cookies

Oats - These are packed full of nutrition and a fabulous source of fibre, zinc, B vitamins, manganese, phosphorus, magnesium and saponins. Saponins are a natural antibiotic and anti-inflammatory which help support the immune system. They are low GI so help to maintain your blood sugar levels and keep you feeling fuller for longer.

Flax Meal - is packed with omega-3 and dietary fibre. It contains calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc and potassium.

Brewers Yeast - Also packed full of B vitamins and contains phytoestrogens, protein, iron, chromium and selenium.

Fenugreek- contains phytoestrogens, diosgenin and hormone precursors which helps improve milk production and supports breast health.

Made with Love
The shelf life of our cookies is 6 weeks as we use real ingredients and have no additives or artificial “stuff” in them. They are made with wholesome everyday ingredients hence the shorter shelf life. But the great news is that they freeze perfectly for up to 3 months that is if you can resist.

I solely use oats as my source of flour which makes the cookies wheat-free. I have also developed a recipe that is gluten, dairy, egg and refined sugar-free just specify when ordering.

Recommendations and Results - We recommend taking 2-3 cookies on the first day. Some mothers notice an increase overnight and others may take a couple of days to see/ feel a difference. Remember each “Mumma bear” is unique and made-up differently so we can not guarantee an increase in milk supply. The cookies are designed as an additional supplement to assist and help boost your already established breastfeeding routine.

If your older children, hubby, the partner can’t keep their hands off the deliciousness, don’t worry they will not start producing milk and can be eaten as a nutritious cookie. Although if you want to keep them all to yourself you could say that they may end up with wet patches.

If you are having trouble with your breastfeeding, low milk supply and in any doubt please contact your midwife, GP or lactation consultant.
